No two readers are the same

Every plan starts with a full reading assessment, so we know where to begin.

Data driven

Phonemic awareness, phonics, sight words, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension are all measured before any teaching begins.

Structured

Orton-Gillingham is explicit, multisensory and sequential. It works for children who have not made progress any other way.

Tailored

Each lesson is built from the data the last one produced, so sessions change as your child does.

Connected

Monthly progress reports go to you and to your child’s classroom teacher, so school sees the progress too.

What parents say

Child reading a book aloud

“Now, my son enjoys reading a book in his spare time and is reading above grade level.”

My husband and I were very concerned when my son was in second grade and still could not read. We tried everything but nothing worked. Melissa spent time talking to us and his teacher to learn more about his struggles. She helped him become more confident and gave him the strategies he needed.

“He gained the confidence he needed to love school again.”

Melissa has been the missing puzzle piece in my son Joseph’s academic growth. My child was reading below grade level and disliked school. Melissa’s knowledge of reading fundamentals and expertise in Orton-Gillingham are the driving forces behind his success. She was kind, loving and patient with my son.

“Within a matter of weeks, we saw a dramatic improvement in her reading skills.”

My third grade daughter enjoyed having books read to her, but reading on her own she struggled with attention span and comprehension. The best part is that she actually enjoys Melissa’s kind, gentle and fun approach to mastering the fundamentals of reading.
